Kigali, 22 December 2025 – A group of young Rwandans residing in Poland visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial and the Campaign Against Genocide Museum at the Rwanda Parliament as part of a cultural and educational tour aimed at deepening their understanding of Rwanda’s history and development journey.

The cultural heritage visit began on Saturday, 20 December 2025, with a tour of the Rwanda Liberation Museum in Gicumbi District, where participants learned about Rwanda’s liberation struggle and the foundations of the country’s post-genocide transformation.

The visit was organized by the Rwanda Community Abroad – Poland (RCA Poland) as part of its 2025 end-of-year programme, designed to strengthen historical awareness among diaspora youth and equip them to counter genocide ideology and denial.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Nyomayiire Allan, Chairperson of RCA Poland, emphasized the commitment of Rwandan youth to safeguarding national unity and reconciliation. Writing in the visitors’ book at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, he noted:

“We, the youth of Rwanda, vow never to allow our country to return to the dark history of genocide and to always promote unity and reconciliation.”

This initiative provided a unique opportunity for diaspora youth to reconnect with Rwanda’s past, reflect on the country’s remarkable transformation, and explore their role in contributing to national development.

RCA Poland is mainly composed of Rwandan students and young professionals living in Poland.
